This week I want you to think of where God is in your life.
Imagine that you are in a dark room and the only source of light is coming from a box that you have restricted. There are these tiny beams of light that are coming out from this box. Almost like the box can’t contain it. You keep hearing these whispers that call you to the box, but you can’t make sense of it or know who it is coming from. All you must do to get out from this dark place is simply, let the light free.
Life can be hard.
Things happen out of nowhere, or maybe didn’t go the way you wanted which left you broken. Whatever your reasons are, you decided to put God in a box whether you know it or not. I have done it many times in my life. Then we start to wonder where God is in our lives. Why we feel down or nothing good is happening.
Sometimes the things that crush you to the core of your spirit is not that God is withholding good and wonderful things for you it is sometimes his way of leading you on the right path and allowing you to grow. The Lord works the things in those isolated areas and rough areas so that we can come out on the other side with his illuminating light. That event, feeling, memory or whatever it may be is the dark room you are in. You do not want to face it again. There was just too much pain, hurt, and brokenness. We decided to walk in it and not let God to shed his light on it.
I can’t look back.
I’m too scared.
I don’t want to feel that pain again.
I’m over it, I moved on.
Stop it with the cover ups and excuses. It is time to face your dark room! The only way to face the dark is to give it to the light. Think about what would happen if you let the light out of the box?
Light stimulates sight and makes things visible. According to Einstein’s theory, nothing can travel faster than the speed of light. If you just open the box, even just to peek, the light will travel so fast and expose things in the dark. Remember “If the enemy can isolate us, he can influence us”.
1 John 1:5 This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all.
I want you to let this sink in “…God is light…”
The word “is” is a present indicative which makes this factual in the present tense. Doesn’t say God was or God might be, but God is. So, light = God then,
God is open and honest which leads to truth,
God is goodness and purity in a moral sense,
God stimulates sight and makes things visible,
I challenge you this week to let God out of the box! Nothing is faster, reaches deeper, or illuminates brighter than God. You choose; either live in a dark room with glimpses of hope, love, and a perfect plan for you or be restored, renewed and resuscitated through an unconditional love. The choice is yours!
